using cfs2 on AMD Athelon processor on an Assus with 128mb ram board, with GE
force 2 video card, the system hangs up, usually when fires are shot.

do you know why and how to fix?
Ill bet you have onboard sound card. I had similar problems with my similar
system until I turned down hardware acceleration.

I know have a Sound Blaster Live 5.1 board and dont have any stuttering
    problems.

Even the best system will hang with an on-board sound card in CFS2.

AMD processor and GeForce graphics cards have problem with overheating. Youm
may test to replace CPU cooler with another bigger, place additional cooler to
blank slot before graphics card (soldier side). You may reinstall a newest VGA
drivers, download it from graphics card's producer internet pages.
You may test if overheating problem is your problem - place your computer to
some cool room, start it and quickly play CFS. If problem not occurs,
    overheating is a problem!
