Some time ago, I donloaded and installed directx8. Until then I was happily
living with directx7.0a. Directx8 not only made a mess of my CFS (the program
stops and exits) but I could not read any DVD either. After reformatting the
hard drive and reinstalling everything, I was stuck with Directx7, which is the
one I have on CD. Unfortunately, Directx7 is known to cause problems with force
feedback joysticks and the cure for it was directx7.0a. Of course this version
is not available anymore from the microsoft site...
Does anyone have the executable for the installation of directx7.0a? Thanks.
