Just wanted to say before I get nailed for a dumb question that I have read the
FAQs, back msgs and CFS2 help.

I have tried to import two versions of the P-51 for CFS to my CFS2, from this
site. p51redtl.zip (which req'd a modification to the A/C tex file) and
rcrfp51d.zip.
Neither a/c showed up on my Player or Enemies list in CFS2. I installed the
gauges in CFS2/ gauges and the A/c into CFS2/Aircraft. I have imported a/c into
FS 98 and FS 2000 many times so I am sure that I am putting files in the right
places. But, I must be doing something wrong, can anyone help. TIA, Dick

You should go and have a look at www.flyandfight.com.

You will find on this site a slightly modified CFS1 Spitfire Mk.IX that is
designed to be imported into CFS2.
The author gives a very complete explaination as how to import his plane in
CFS2. This explaination shows notably that creating the usual
Model-Panel-Sound-Texture subfolders and pasting the gauges in CFS2\Gauges is
not enough, and that you have to add some mentions in the
CFS2\Quickcom\qc_plane.qcb file as well.
It's a bit more complicated than usual, but at least in my case it worked
perfectly well. Perhaps you should try to use the same procedure with your
Mustangs ?
I think you can get in touch with this author through www.combatsim.com if you
wish to ask him further informations.

Check the Panel and Sound folder. Make sure they are aliased to an aircraft
that you have in your Aircraft folder. You can also cut and paste the contents
of the Panel and Sound folder of one of your aircraft to the problem one.

I knew you folks would come through and point me in the right direction. Thanks
a bunch...Dick
