I learned from another forum how to have torpedo practice in CFS2, without
being fired upon, so I'd like to pass it on to you.

Go to the Main Menu and hit Training Missions. Select Japanese and then Carrier
Approach and Landing. Hit Next and select Player Aircraft and find your
favorite torpedo plane (select Torpedo.) I use the TBF-1 Avenger. Hit Next and
then hit P when the mission starts and go into Hud mode (F3.) Then go into Slew
(Y) and position yourself sufficiently distant and broadside to the carrier at
about 800' altitude. Un-slew and un-pause and you're off. If you check
Unlimited Ammo you should be able to take a number of shots at the carrier. I
found that about three hits will destroy her.

If you don't already know, there is a great site
(http://web.tiscalinet.it/jobim/cfs2/) that, among other things, has a download
for an oil slick when a vessel is seriously damaged.

I circled around and watched the carrier slowly sink beneath the surface amid a
growing black oil slick. Breathlessly beautiful!

Thank you very every much I sure do need to practice and not worry about being
a target!!!!

I downloaded the oil slick and smoke and fire addons and such but have not
tried them yet...

Have fun and never shoot at any plane that has an overloaded cockpit!!!
