    G'day.

This is a common occurance with Voodoo II 3d cards. May be your brother has
one of those. Apart from the loss of bracket the game should still be
    playable.

After I installed CFS on my brothers computer, he doesn't get the yellow
brackets around the selected enemy aircraft when targeting enemy aircraft. He
just sees the name and dot. I un-installed CFS, removed the directory, ran
Norton Utilities and re-installed to no avail. Can anyone HELP me?

    Thanks for the response Mark,

Im not using a Voodoo card, its an ATI Rage card. I have looked everywhere for
a faq on this problem, but can't find anything. My brother is not happy that I
have targeting boxes and he only has the name. This seems to be another
    MicroSoft glitch that they over-looked...lol!!!

P.S. any help would be greatly appreciated

    hi Gary,
    I don't think it's your gfx card after all, I've had 3 ATI Rgae's (all Pro's)
on various systems, and never had this problem, unless I accidentally hit the
hot key to turn off the boxes.
It cud be as simple as that. Load it up in quick combat, making sure your
aircrat is invunerable, then check which ever key it is that sellects the boxes
(can't remember off hand, sorry). If it's not ticked, then the prob is in your
COMBATFS.cfg file, which you don't even have to edit, as if you make sure it's
ticked, then close down cfs properly, the next time start it up, it'll be
    selected anyway :-)
    gud luck
    andy.

Sorry Garry, I don't know anything about the ATI cards. Maybe if you buy your
brother a yellow overhead projector pen he could draw his own targeting
    reticles.

As for me, I don't miss them that much, after all would a real fighter pilot of
    the era have them!?

    Luck
