We tried MSN gaming zone but it puts us in the same airport everytime we do it. We want to fly with just us 2 and choose our own custom settings. Can he connect directly to my computer? Sorry if I sound like a newbie, I am.

All you need to do is find out what your IP address is and go to Multiplayer in FS and "host" a multiplayer game. You type in your IP and all that stuff and then your friend goes into his sim and clicks "join multiplayer" and types in your IP address and you both should be together. You can go to any airport you wish and fly together. You dont really need the zone to do it. To find out your IP address (if you dont know how), go to "Start" then "Run" and type in winipcfg and it will tell you your IP address. Hope this helps.

Further too this I suggest you each get a headset with mic (Radio Shack maybe) and a program called Roger Wilco. Then you can talk to each other as well. You run the program along with FS2002. Do it all the time and works great. Also run a program called FSScreen as well. With this you just press 'Print Scrn' and it takes screenshots of your trip. Works great

If you run Roger Wilco, make sure you password protect your IP so you dont get a bunch of idiots on your channel. That happened to us one flight and it was very annoying!

I am on cable and have my computer on a network and a router. The cable modem's ip address is, of course, different than the one on my computer and the router has it's own ip address too. Which ip address do I use or will this even work with this setup?

Hmm, good question! I would think that since your cable is running through your router then it would be the IP address of the cable modem but I'm probably wrong. I would try them both to see which one works. I also think this has been discussed before so you might want to try searching for it. Hope you figure it out.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-05-02 AT 10:04PM (EDT)[p]This is just from my experience, but if you click on the arrow up at the top, you'll be able to select "Ethernet Adapter" and whatever shows up under your IP, just use that one. It works for me, but your setup might be different. I've got cable, so that's why I'm putting my 2 cents in here. :-)

Thanks for the replies. I'll experiment and see what I can find out.
