Hi, Paul 'Tucson Coyote' bender here....
Now that we have one ME262 around, is there anyone out there who'll do a ME-169
Komet... The first Rocket Powered aircraft... A little background gf
of what I know of the Komet....
The Komet was Germany's quickest and in fact most destroyed
aircraft that was ever built... Why you may ask, the answer is
that the craft was Rocket powered, and used a mixture of a fuel (called)
T-Stoft) and an Oxidizer made of Hydrogen Peroxide Called C-Stoft (yes, its
like the same stuff you find at the store, but in higher concentrations
(3%% Hydrogen Peroxide in the Store, 71% in the C-stoft!)
Anyway, this little nimble craft was small and was launched from the ground,
and had a detachable dolly. The vehicle would have a fantastic climb rate
(somewhere over 5,000 ft /min) but only had powered flight for 7
minutes...) after which the pilot returned to base as sort of a
dead stick glider......
The Top speed as I serve to recall of the Komet was close to that
of the ME262 'Swallow' and was close to 500 knots during powered flight...
Also I believe the vehicle did have one weapon, a 30 mm cannon 1 of those
The reason that the craft a lot of times was destroyed was because of improper
fueling (when you combined the two fuels (C-stoft and T-stoft) together you
got one heck of an explosion... A lot of these vehicles were
destroyed on the ground due to improper fueling procedures, but when
they did fly, these vehicles (for 7 minutes!) were a prett unstopabble force.
Also as I remember these Komet's had no horizontal stabilizers and
were controlled by the wing flaps and the rudder....
I was wondering if someone could build a CFS model of such an aircraft??
And also if someone could verify the walidity of the statements that I made...
As I called the Komet, I nicknamed them the Nazi Tweety Bird, cause they were
small, fast, agile, and could put out any big planes with a few shots of their
cannons....
Just wondering

P.S. Achtung. I taught I taw a Nazi Tweety bird!~
