I just got MsCfs today and i love it!!! the only thing i cant figure out is how
to import my FS98 WWII fighters and bombers to work. i managed to get 2 A/C
working but dont ask me how. i have a beautiful B-17G and it wont show up in
the free flight menu. can you help??
I put about a hundred aircraft of all different types, including helicopters,
from my FS98 into my CFS Aircraft file, and all of them (that I tried so far)
work, so it can be done. See my posts #207 and #237. Since the FS98 planes
are put in CFS the same way they are put in FS98, the FS98 FAQs may be helpful
to you too. Good flying. -- Cloudy --

Klaus, I am far from being a CFS expert, although I did do the review on
the sim. I imported several different aircraft, fighters, cargo, bombers
and jet transports without any difficulty. The aircraft that I did import
    were all designed for FS98. I don't know if a converted FS5.1 or FS95
will present any particular problems. All I can say is just double check
everything. Make sure that your files are all correct when you go from
FS98 to CFS. I know this does not sound too helpful, but good luck.

i don't know how to import aircraft into cfs! why can't it be easier like in
    fs98??? need advise.

    mariano
Mariano, it is very easy to import FS98 aircraft. Go into your FS98
aircraft folder and select the airplane you want to import. Click on it
and go to copy. Move to CFS aircraft folder and click on it. Go to paste
and click and voila, you are there. Just make sure that you also transfer
    the gauge files.

    Hi folks

I am having a bit of trouble importing aircraft, im copying the folder from
fs98 in cfs however aircraft do not register in cfs, obviously im doin
something wrong, coud anybody clue me in

    thanks
To add an aircraft.you install as if it is FS98.
If the plane is FS5 then convert.. if not leave alone.
Basically I have been copying planes from my FS98 planes folder.
Two things that you need to do are
1)install the panel and gauges if you are using a different one than a default
    panel. and then
2)add the two Damage Profile files-I assume that's what DP stands for. (See the
list in a default plane's folder)
    There is a
    yourplane.DP file and another
    yourplane.CDP file
You can copy them from another CFS default plane's Folder and rename them to
yourplane's file name..keeping the file extension the same.
You don't need to mess with the CDP file.
The DP file sets the gun's necessary info and the damage description on the
    plane.
You can try altering the dp file for ammo amount if you wish or gun
    location.
I'm not completely sure how this is done though.

One more thing:All the default panels from FS98 are already installed in CFS
with the addition of the WWII fighter panels that are new. You can create
referral panel.cfg files for any CFS panel just as you can do in FS98.
The same thing goes for the sound files.
So, for example the Lear and the 737 sounds are already installed in CFS.
If you use a panel that has renamed or non.default FS98 gauges then you need
to move/install them to CFS gauges folder.
    Hope this helps.
