I noticed this was mentioned earlier but there have been no replies yet, but
the question is - Does anyone have a clue as to how to change the weapons on an
imported plane from the defaults? I mean, I want to strap the right guns on
the planes, not the default machine guns and cannons.

Mark...I don't see any way to customize the loadout except to zero out, for
instance, the cannon ammo if the plane doesn't have them. I don't see any way
to change between the 6 50's of the P-51 and the 8 50's of the P-47. There was
quite a bit of difference in firepower in the real AC. Maybe someone will
    figure it out.

I think I have started to figure out how to do it:
In the /aircraft/<yourplane> directory, there is a .CDP and .DP file. The .DP file lists
the locations of the guns on the plane, and the maximum ammo per gun (ex. 1000
rounds per gun w/4 guns will say 4000 rounds in CFS). The trick now is to
figure out the variables that coincide with the different caliber guns.
The file also lists hit locations on the planes.

Also, has anyone been able to get the computer AI to fly an imported plane
against you in Quick Combat? Doing what it says in the converter help file
    doesn't work for me.

I too have noticed within the .dp file there are gun settings for ammo etc. I
exported the gun section into an Excel spreadsheet and had a look at the
variables. There are two sections concerned with guns, [gun.*] and
[gunstations] the [gun.*] is ammo load and maybe rate of fire? The
[gunstation] part has to to do with the effectiveness, wieght of projectile,
trajectory, and range? I am not sure about all these but under [gunstation]
you will find a variable 1d1*[a number]. The heavier the calibre of weapon has
a larger [a number]. There are additional gunstations with a lot of zero
variables in them, I believe these are for rockets and bombs when they are
loaded. the 1d1 values are very large (12 value for 13mm machine guns vs 3000
value for rockets) I hpe this helps somewhat and maybe there is somebody out
there tat can create a spreadsheet that could identify all the variables.
