Guys all this stuff about too many members is pure Bull Crap, these dips just
put that screen up so you'd sign up for thier 'first class membership'. Now
these guys say that the peak time is 4:00 Eastern Time, well I live in the
eastern time zone. And I always get this friggen message! no matter what time!
I've even logged in a 9am, hell- even 3am and I always get this message! I
don't know about you, but I aint payin no 30 dollars to use this site.

The service on this site isn't even 1/4th of what it used to be. So I'm goin
over to Simviation.com. It may not have as advanced of a file search as this
site has, they may not even have thier files categorized, but over there- you
don't even have to log in.

I don't know about you, but I just don't think it's worth it to lose service
just so they can save our preferences. I'm just at a loss for words, this site
is a trash heap now, and I don't wan't to add to the filth. I'll drop in every
once in a while, but Simviation.com is now my primary FS98 site.

Maybe it is getting busier and busier at this site. Have you seen the amount
of posts received at the FS2K2 forum these days, or the amount of FS2K2 stuff
downloaded from here. I guess the guys here have to pay for the bandwidths
that they use up, the bills to keep the servers, disks etc. in working
condition. I do not want to re-start the debate on the pay/not pay issue or
how to go about it, but the bottom line is Cisco and the other big guys have to

make their monies and someone has got to pay for these. I'm not saying but I
will let you deduce if I'm paid up member or not.

the last few days. I SO wish these guys would get rid of the login feature and
give everyone access.

But can anyone anwser my other post? about FS98 airliner reccomendations and
proper speeds to maintain?

Logging in here has a number of beneficial uses to the users, especially the
ability to keep track of your postings etc. For around 8c per day I have no
problems with my First Class Membership. Sites like this are NOT free to the
hosts, and unlike some agrieved individuals I see the membership as a way of
supporting the site, not a way of charging for freeware.

Well,for the "All nodes are busy"signal,Izzy is right...you want to take a
look at how much traffic we have here now,and the peak time thing was put up
when we were new to the world,I should tell Nels to take it down because we are
busy around the clock from around the world. When you average 10 to 15 GIG
(files names downloaded...not file sizes)in downloads with most of the files
tipping the scales at around 5 meg you soon realize that it is busy.
As for the heavy to crash....well...you want to remember this...bigger is
easier to a point....you just need to be farther out in front of the plane
mentally and keep in mind that it doesn't turn like a Cessna,I have a few
favorites,the 747-700 and the 747-900 and the Airbus 380XXX when I wanna fly
heavy iron....militarily it would be my all up B-52....you make no turns
whatsoever on take off because of the weight until you get above 10,000ft and
turn on the power to ge up to a .88 MACH cruise@FL500 for a mind boggling
26,000nm(its a flyin gas can with a few bombs added for excitement)
Average speed of most of your heavies at altitude will be around .85 +/- at
around FL400 +/-. You just gotta pick how big and how far.

We need a ticker like the stock market or CNN uses on the front page
that will display the number of files being downloaded, how big the files
are, how many users are downloading those files, and how fast they are
downloading them - in real time. Once these guys put pen to paper and figure
it out, they'll realize you're preaching to the choir. They'd have better
luck going on the DCforums and convincing the fs2002 crowd to put away
their DSL and Cable modems and use a 28.8 dialup!

Curt is correct, Flightsim.com is busier than ever and it's not going to
get better without drastic help. I'll be back..
