Thread: "HoverSafe" Scenery

  1. Default "HoverSafe" Scenery

Here is a nifty little addition to add to Chicago Meigs field called Hover Safe, file name is hoversafe_academy.zip. I got it at http://ftp.avsim.com or you can get at Frank Betts site www.flightsimsetc.dhs.org you might whant to visit Frank's site any way he has more scenery there and other stuff. The hanger is open at both ends so you can park float planes it as well if you like. For those people who dont know what Hover Safe Academy is it's a site you can go to to learn how to fly the FS helicopters

Yes but when I land on it Im about 10 feet above the deck it might be the FS2000 version I should fix it with the FS2002 version.

I already have those files for the rigs from the good old FS98 days but, i didn't think that 98 files would work with 2002. Any installation tips would be great.

    Cheers

PS I installed the Hoversafe scenery and it is Brill, Also installed the proving grounds scenery, that is good too.

I have found that most of the scenery files for FS98 that go on the water usualy work but any thing like helipads on some of the buildings dont, sometimes they are suspended in mid air. I guess microsoft has shifted some of the buildings around from one version to the next version.

No special installation tips for the FS98 files except make a folder maybe name it Meigs Rigs then two more folders one named scenery and the other one named texture then put them in the folder you named Meigs Rigs. Put the bgl file in the scenery folder you made and the r8 files in the texture folder you made. I see in the installation instructions that Airport 2.10 file is needed for the oil rig file but your probably familiar with that, and then activate the Meigs Rigs scenery like you did with the Hoversafe scenery.

I never had FS98 so I dont know how that file was in it. I have had only had 2K and 2002 in 2002 it is like that carrier as stated above you will hit hard surface before you hit the actual surface.

I hope this doesnt mess you up any and I am a one fingered typist kind of slow going you know.

What is the proving grounds scenery? If you mean the Practice grounds at Frank's site I will have to check that one out also.
