Hey pplz,
I've got a few things to say about FS 5.1. It's an awesome civil sim, I've
had it for 2 years & haven't used anything else (also cuz of I didn't have the
money for anything else... BTW I'm 14 so money doesn't come easy). But, looking
thru all the files & stuff, I feel I need to say some things.
First of all, with FS 5.1 being 2 years old, I think it's starting to die
out. Sure, there's still tons of files for it, but the amount of new files are
starting to decline in favor of files for FS98 or FSFW95. Don't u think that
its about time someone made backwards compatible files? Or perhaps someone at
least make a converter for FS98 to FS5.1 and such. Just a thought.
The next thing I have to say is more like a question. Like I said, I've had
FS5.1 for 2 years now, so I'm starting to get the idea that an update is due.
So, I'm considering purchasing FSFW95 or FS98 sometime in the near future, so I
wuz wondering if anyone could help me in deciding this. I have a P120 w/ 24
Megs of RAM, an almost full 512 MB Hard Drive, a 2x CD-ROM (ok ok, I know I'm
due for an update, but those things are expensive ya know), and a Diamond
Stealth II S220. Another thing I should mention is that along with FS 5.1, I
purchased FSFS and the Europe 2 Scenery. So, what I'm wondering is, should I
update to FSFW95, becuz I'm pretty much happy with the way FS 5.1 works and
I've heard that FSFW95 is alot like it, and also becuz my computer might not be
powerful enough for FS98 to run well. However, I also have reasons for FS98,
such as: to use my 3D accelerator with the new version, to be more up-to-date
with the Flight Simulator World, and also becuz of all the other reasons why
ppl upgrade their stuff. Or, should I even upgrade at all? Cuz I'm able to get
FS 5.1 to run pretty well in Win95, and I'm not sure if FSFS or Europe 2 would
work with either new version.
Ok, the last thing I wanna say, is has anyone ever noticed the way
Microsoft seemed to abandon FSFW95? I mean, it came out at the beginning of
last summer, along with a MS Expansion Pack, but then it just sorta went
bye-bye, becuz not 5 months later Microsoft released FS98, which spelled doom
for FSFW95. Just wondered if anyone else noticed that.
