Hi

Is there anyway to control the airspeed selector of the autopilot from the keyboard? I can only adjust it using the mouse pointer on the screen.

Many thanks

Hmmm...

Press F10 to open the Kneeboard
On the Key Commands tab, scroll down to Autopilot Commands

There I find:

Autopilot Select Airspeed      CTRL+SHIFT+R

So, press CTRL+SHIFT+R and then use + and - keys to adjust the Airspeed Hold value.

As a reminder, if you have a "wheel" mouse, while hovering over most gauges you can use the wheel to adjust the values / settings.

I tried that, and it worked, but... after doing that, is there an easy way to get the + and - keys to go back to controlling the zoom?

Right click anywhere on the screen.

I too wonder about that. Is there and easy way to get the + - keys to control the main window zoom, WITHOUT using the mouse. Not a big deal but I like to fly mouse-free where I can.

Carl,

Pressing the backspace arrow, will do the same thing. That is if you are controlling any other comand with key board, and you want to go back to controlling zoom, backspace, then + or -.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-02-02 AT 05:35AM (EDT)[p]I know of no way to do that. You have to make the window active before you can use the - + keys. However, there are far more knowledgeable people than me here.

PS: I was too late with my reply, Randy, of course, is absolutely right.

Here's a general question for the group..... Would anyone find it useful to have a utility which allows one to hand type numbers to set the autopilot? Things such as airspeed, altitude, heading hold, and climb rate values? I don't want the project to get carried away, but these four parameters are relatively easy for me to do for folks using FSUIPC.... You'd have to alt-tab out of the application if you were running in a full window, but you'd be able to plug in the numbers--click "update", and the A/P would be set....

Personally speaking, I wouldn't be interested in that because a) I don't want to have to switch out of the program, and b) FSNavigator already allows this.
But thanks for the suggestion anyway.
Now a quality load manager, or a non-selfadjusting clock gauge, that'd be handy. (Get in touch with me if you think these are your thing.)
