    Default CH flight yoke problem

I just recently bought a USB CH flight yoke and pro peddles. I followed the instructions on how to install the stuff for the yoke. But when it comes to the insert Windows 98/2000 CD-ROM to find the drivers for it. It cannot find it on the disk. I have never been able to find any drivers I need when it asks me to put it in. what is up with that crap? maybe im just doing something stupid, i dont know. Any help will be appreciated. Oh yea, i have windows 98 SE if that helps.

My 98se machine has no problems with it. :-) Give it a try and let us know how it works for you.

Edit: From the CHProducts Tech Support section:

Question: When I install my USB controller I get an "HID Compliant..." entry in game controllers.

Answer: This is perfectly normal. The drivers you are installing for your USB device are actually Microsoft Windows default drivers. Microsoft calls these devices "Human Interface Devices" (HID).
To verify that your CH USB device works correctly, calibrate it within Windows. If all axis move and all buttons work then you have the correct driver installed.

    or........... ;-)

navigate to the directory where the filename is..

sometimes you have to use the find function to locate the appropriate directory..

It recommended the HID-compliant game contoller. but when i clicked on the ok button it asks me to put the win 98 disk in, then it cant find it. tell me step by step of what all i should click, cause i might be clicking the wrong thing or something.

would there be a place i could just download the windows driver.

In that case, you will need to navigate (browse) the CH Prod Driver CD and find the correct folder with the drivers for the USB Yoke.

Unfortunately, I don't have the driver cd handy so I can't walk you through the folder structure.

Another option, which may be a bit more in depth, is to use their relatively new control manager, available here:

Im actually reminded of flying the real thing now. the peddles are a bit awkward at first, but i'll get the hang of it. I think they need more spring or something.

Does anybody got any suggestions on how to setup all the buttons on my yoke? Can one of the buttons be programed for like a push to talk switch for roger wilco? that would be awesome.

And, if you want working toe brakes, (for the gameport version), here is a mini tutorial on how to do that. The USB version, I think, already has the capibility for toe brakes.
