I intend to create a runway (for FS2000/FS2002) over a platform but it seems
that the runway commands are done in way it forces the terrain elevation to theYes --- First "Anchor" the terrain or water with a SCASM "FlattenArea" command, elevation of the runway.
Is there any way of creating a runway without forcing terrain up?
specifying the ground (or water) elevation for the Flatten. Then, install your
elevated runway making sure it is directly over the Flattened Area. An
"Initial Location" should be defined in your scenery containing this and the
scenery should be "turned-on" in the FS2002 scenery library. All this can be
done easily with Apt26 because it now contains routines for creating both
FlattenAreas and Elevated Runways. There is a remaining problem whereby you
may have to Re-Activate the scenery containing these Flattens and Elev Runways
whenever you leave and then return to the scenery area (or vice-versa).
Hopefully, we can find out how to prevent the Re-Activation requirement when MS
releases a Scenery SDK.
Good Luck; J.R.
