Hi Vikki "Last Year" (Message 21759) I reported to you that I had solved my
problems with intermittent elevated Helipads by joystick disconnect/reconnect.
Well, sad to say that was not right. However, all this FS2002 elevated pad
mess has led to discovering how to finally get it right.
In recalling events surrounding that, I stumbled onto a positive way to do it,
fully workable in Apt2.6. In doing the following, my pads are now working
perfectly:
It appears there are 3 requirements for hard, stable elevated surfaces:
1. There must be a (small or large) "flatten area" beneath it AT GROUND LEVEL.
2. There must be an invisible runway at the same level as the Area16 helipad
surface. It can be made very small to accomodate only the pad function, if
desired.
3. There must be a "standard" Area16 hardened surface applied at the helipad
level, along with a bitmap unless you want a bare roof only landing pad.
Time permitting, I will upload some of these pads. Happy New Year...
