Perhaps someone will take pity on me and help me with this: I am using a 3rd
party scenery for an airport.... the file is Gpt.zip from this site. All the
statics were grey.... there are only 2 type of aircraft, several cessnas and
several jets that appear to be dc9's... there were no texture files included...Hi Steve,I am only just learning about scenery design... I went through my other
scenerys and copied a file called cessna.r8 to the texture directory and
amazingly the cessna's are all painted very nicely now... I have not been able
to find a similar file for the jets... they look like dc9's... could someone
please enlighten me on how to paint these static jets? is there a dc9.r8
somewhere? I dont know which design program was used for this scenry.. I have
airport and dod but am only just learning how to use them... I dont understand
how to paint or edit aircraft that are already in the scenery file... any help
would be appreciated... thanks
Steve
Wow, I see the date of your message and notice no responses. Although a bit
late I will offer what has worked for me. I have just begun to experiment with
my FS98 (time on my hands following an accident) and scenery design. You may
need the Airport texture files available on many sites. If this does not work
you may try finding a DC-9 you like, download it and copy the texture files to
the texture file of the scenery and the texture file of your simulator. In my
first attempt at a scenery design I discovered difficulty in static aircraft
textures, and the above steps brought the statics full color. And besides, it
never hurts to have extra texture files. Hope you have long ago solved you
problem, but if not, I hope this helps.
