Well you need to say a bit more what you mean by scenery. Do you want to change airport layouts? add some objects to FSX? modify the Terrain? Build photo scenery?

I want to place objects/edit airports and layouts. Mostly I want to add parked aircraft and hangars and change taxiways. I'd like to add airports too.

If you like freeware, consider the following:
Terrain (fix the ground the airport sits on): SbuilderX
    http://www.ptsim.com/sbuilderx/SBuilderX310.zip
Note: also has a neat feature of capturing google, MS, or yahoo aerial photos which can be used in other programs
Airport (modify layout and functioning): ADE Home
    http://www.airportdesigneditor.co.uk/
    FSX_Planner
    http://www.zbluesoftware.com/fsxplanner/FSXPlanner.zip
    Scenery Objects (buildings, etc): Whisplacer

Scenery design is much more different than aircraft design but all of it can usually be done with gmax and the use of several tools to aid in the development. FSDS is also good for making scenery.

There are however, programs that let you right into the action. EZScenery lets you go about flight sim and simply place your scenery where ever you desire. The only problem is, you don't design the scenery, everything has already been designed for you, usually having the most common things you will find on an airport.

Give them all a try, it can get very involving but you'll need a lot of time and patience to put out a scenery add-on.

As well as SBuilderX you could look at FSX KML - that is also available via www.fsdeveloper.com

Hi I am new to this thread and forum, I have had the first FS 2000 when it first came out. now I have dragged it out a few weeks ago. so I updated my self with the FSX gold edition, then bought a Logitech 710 or the ruble 2 as it comes up.
now I have found like some that the scenery is not very accurate, for example some of the Australian airport, yes I am an pom turned ausse many years ago. so I have just logged in to see what I could do about it. so I will try some of them.
now I will look else where to find out why windows 7 frezzes and the 710 does not work
