    Default FSGenisis Problem??

Fellow simmers; Here's my issue, nothing major, but more of an irritant. I am currently flying around Europe as a diversion from the US. I have recently installed Ground Environment Pro and FS Genesis package for the world. I took a flight, just for the heck of it, from Metz [LFJL] to Nice [LFMN] to fly over the Alps in the winter. On three separate occasions, with different aircraft, I had the dreaded CTD black screen with no indications as to what the caused the failure. I saw a recent post that was similar to my experience that indicated FSGenisis has caused similar problems to other folks.

These CTD happened at relatively the same place, altitude and relationship to my destination airport. I don't know if there is a bgl. file conflict or whatever, but I have no idea what caused the problem.

Since these incidents, I've flown all over Europe, ie, the UK, Germany, etc with no similar malfunctions or problems. After the first CTD, I deleted the add-on scenery I had installed for LFMN and that did not cure the problem.

Like I said initially, it's no big deal, but I don't like unsolved mysteries.

Maybe someone has an answer as to why this CDT would only occur in one particular area.

    Thanks for any input,

    Paul

The only thing I can think of is keyed on your statement of the Alps. We know that when the slope exceeds certain values, there is a landclass texture substitution done by lclookup.bgl. Maybe there could be a missing or damaged terrain textures file in scenery\world\scenery\? Have you tried the flight in different seasons?

Also I think there was a modified lclookup file designed to make the alps look better. I haven't heard any problems with it, but have you ever installed a replacement?

Thanks for the input. I'll try different seasons and see if that has any effect and also try approaching the airport for from a different direction.

    Thanks,

Have you filed a support ticket over at FS Genesis?

It would be good also for you to fly close to the area in question and save the flight and also pass them over to Justin to investigate...

    He's very good with support.

Thanks for the info. I'll try a few experiments and, if unsuccessful, will contact FSGenesis.
