Thread: Active camera issue...

    Default Active camera issue...

When the head latency option is on my VC view becomes VERY choppy. It seems as though it is always trying to adjust whenever the latency motion comes into play. Also if i am sitting still and i press the spacebar to reset my view, it will go there and then instantly move a slight bit to the right. That seems to be the issue when flying. Its like active cam is always a bit off so it jumps forward a bit. Anyone ever have this issue or know how to resolve it?? I am running 2.1 with FS9.1.

Can you give us more info on your machine. Also have you tried my tweaks I posted in the 'Frame Rate' thread located here in these forums? Outside of that I've never seen your problem in FS9.

    Asus P5GV MX
    P4 @ 3.2
    120GB Seagate
    2GB DDR
    7900GT @ 525/1500

Running many of the common CFG tweaks, even tried with a fresh CFG. I have tried multiple forceware drivers as well. Seems as though it will be fine for the first little bit and then the issue slowly arises. I cant seem to figure it out.

Is this with a certain plane or all the aircraft in your hanger?

I have found that the Carenado Mentor and the Flight One 172 do not have the issue at all. Every other plane i have tried so far has the issue. Its like it is running two VC points at one time. If i use the hat on my joystick to make my point of view out the right window, then hit Ctr 1 to get to my active camera postion. The next time i move my hat, it automatically jumps to when i had the POV looking out the right window.

It mentions in the active camera documentation that framerates higher than about 24 fps (I think) can cause juddering with the head latency.

Ding ding ding. I lock my FPS at 30. Dropped it to 24 and the issue was resolved. Is there any way to work around this issue?? I would much rather have my FPS at 30, just seems so much more smooth.
