Thread: FPS on FSX info needed

  1. Smile FPS on FSX info needed

    Hello everybody...

I am new in this forum but I am looking for advice.

I need to upgrade my video card and my intel processor. I been working on 10-25 FPS on FS9 and I installed FSX and i have 1-4 FPS (no way to enjoy FSX this way).

I would like to upgrade my video card and my intel processor so i can have good FPS (15-30) on FSX with HIGH (not very high) display options...

    A friend recommended me:

video card: ge force 8400 gts 256 video
    Processor: intel core duo 6750

I know there are better but I dont have too much money
Will these provide good FPS on FSX??

I have plenty of space and good ram too.

Does anybody knows about patches that imporve FPS??

    thanks

    1. In order to see if other hardware will be better, it might be handy to say what hardware you are using now

    2. You did install SP1 and SP2 already? Those patches improve fps.

    I have 1 GB ram
    AMD 6200
Nvidia 128 , not quite sure

I'd skip that video card and get something better. It'll really hold you back.

I've got the same C2D processor, E6750, but am running an Nvidia 8800GT OC. It's awesome.

    Everything runs smooth!!

How many FPS do you get on big airports such as heathrow, lax, denver, kenedy, paris, frankfurt..etc...

    Thanks, Agustin

No clue. I don't know how to view the FPS, but I usually fly out of Las Vegas and it's smooth.

    Hi Ace_437

Shift/Z to see your frame rates You can page through three different readouts with shift / z

Click on 'settings' and 'assignments' to page through all the keyboard commands or go directly there at start-up. It will show you a lot of tricks.

The lowest I've seen mine was in Chicago (KORD) and it was down to 15-17 FPS!! After all this time, I can actually enjoy flying again!!!
