Thread: GPS causing system lockup

  1. #1

    Question GPS causing system lockup

Whenever I activate GPS, on any aircraft, the entire system locks up. This is a new problem and I have been unable to find what changes I made to FS2004 that makes the system lockup whenever I try to use GPS.

    Any help would be great.

Some add-ons replace the fs9 gpsexport.dll with the FS2002 version which is not compatible. Check the creation date and version of that .dll in your modules folder to see if it was overwritten.

If you find any other version with any application you are running in FS9 rename it.

I have heard of this happening with certain videocard settings. have you changed any of these recently?

It might not be the GPS, but rather the panel. Some of the gauges will cause this problem. Change (by substitution) to a different panel, even if just the C-182 panel, to confirm.
