Freeware programs for easy scenery design?

I'm new to scenery design, in fact i've never done it. I was wondering if there was some freeware prgrams that would get me started. I want to create new scenery for a specific geographic area, this will include high resolution mesh, possible photorealistic textures and very accurate landclass. Anyone have any suggestions for me, and documentation would be nice as well.

You have a choice of two to look at. SBuilderX or FSX KML.

Wow, I need to preview my posts. I meant freeware scenery designers for fs9 I did a google search and came up with stuff for fs2000.

Well I am still not sure what you want to do. scenery design can cover everything from the mesh up through the landclass and on to object placement. Or do you want to modify the runways and so on of an airport? There are several tools that concentrate on one or more aspects. You might want to look at www.scenery.org and take a look at the section on design utilities. That site probably has the biggest collection of design tools fo different versions of FS including FS9 and FSX

Can anyone give me a hint on how to build a simple airport from scratch in FS9, got the plans, coordinates, layouts ect, and don't know how to start.
Its a new flying school in my country and want to build it.

You will need AFCAD2 to actually design the airport. The manual is very good and describes the basics of building an airport as well as using the tool. You will also need to clear and flatten the ground where the airport is. For this you might use SBuilder. That will also allow you to add buildings and so forth. There are some tutorials on my site www.scruffyduckscenery.co.uk that cover building airports. There were designed to regress modern airport to an earlier age but that would also work quite well for creating a new airport
