  1. #1

Default DO FS2004 planes work in FSX

Do fs2004 aircraft work in FSX or not??

  2. Default

    yes, no, maybe.

In other words, some will work out of the box, some with modifications or restrictions, and some not at all.

I have ported from FS9 to FSX over 200 planes and only two or three do not work.
Try this: For every FS9 plane you copy-paste to FSX, 90% of the time the Panel does not work, just Copy a "similiar" FSX Panel or download one and place it on the FS9 folder.....There you go, now you have it in FSX....do not forget to "make" a thumbnail for it otherwise it will appear in your list of planes but no pic!!!!!.....hope it helps you.

    Default 777-300

Ive been trying to get the stock 777 from 2004 to work in FSX, but Im having a few issues. It seems to work ok using Windows XP however if I try it using Vista the stock panel loads up showing only the bmp files and no gauges. I did put the 777 gauges in the FSX gauge file. The panel works fine with XP. Also with vista I did get the plane to fly using the 747 panel however I cant get the airspeed up over 220 kias at fl410. Has anyone else been able to get this plane to work in FSX using Vista?

    Don

Well, as you've read...some do, some don't. And with the release of SP2, a lot fewer planes from FS2004 that did work, no longer do. And that apparently applies even to those planes which strictly followed the SDK. Go figure.

I have an unpatched version of FSX with no SP1 or 2 as when I installed SP1 it messed up until I removed it.

C'mon Hennerz, everyone knows that Service Packs FIX problems, they don't CAUSE problems.

    I'm being tongue-in-cheek here.

hmm, didn't read the installation instructions?
Because that's a common factor with people who have trouble, they refuse to RTFM and blame the product for their own failure.
