Default Flightsim.com Now Has a Wiki For FAQs...

Flightsim.com now has a Wiki for FAQs and some other things. This will be an ongoing project, so more will be added as time goes on, more questions are asked, etc.

You can access the Wiki at: FS Wiki Main Page

You don't even need to log in to read it.

P.S. There is now a link to the Wiki in the blue bar at the top of these pages, along side FAQ, USER CP, login/logout, etc.

Larry has been a major contributor to the new Wiki content, just as he has been here in the forums, and I just wanted to thank him for it.

Wiki is of course a relatively new concept, but hopefully it's something that will prove very useful to the flightsim community. I hope we will have many people contributing to it, for the good of everyone.

A "Wiki" link needs to be added to the toolbar here in the forums...

But the whole concept of wikis is that people can add their own knowledge to share with others. I've created an account, but I don't get permission to edit/create/etc.

Sadle not protecting Wiki content from editing by anyone often leads to wholesale corruption of the system.
Saboteurs come along and ruin pages with garbish, people post spam or use the place to post links to pirated content or blatant political propaganda, etc. etc.

    Andy,

Jeroen is right. Nevertheless, the people who run this site do want contributions from a number of people on a wide variety of FS-related subjects. You might try getting in touch with Dan Linton, danl@flightsim.com. Tell him the kinds of things you'd like to write about.

A wiki can be set of with various levels of security. Initially at least we've set it so that only approved authors can contribute material. Of course, we are very interested in signing up additional such authors and many of the people in the forums here are well qualified and we'll be happy to set you up if you contact us about it.

How about a link so that those that are not approved authors can send contributing articles or suggestions for changes?

Notepad, wordpad, MSWord. Any text editor should work.
