if you had to pick between the pmdg 747x or flight 1 atr which one would you take. Both seem very good and look capable on running on my vista system, but at the end of the day which would be better?
Thanks, Mike

define "better"...
As I prefer shorter flights the ATR appeals to me more than does the 747.
It's also cheaper, and made by a really hoopy bunch of guys (not to say the PMDG guys aren't hoopy, but I don't know them).
It does however have some slight problems with those Tokyo-Los Angeles runs. Problems like engines starting to fail for lack of fuel.
So, in essence, you have to figure out what type of flying you are wanting to do more of and buy that add-on aircraft.
I have the LevelD 767 with FScrew2 which runs pretty well on my system which is...
Vista Home
FSX
Athlon 64 x2 Dual 3800+
2 GB mem
Nvidia 7500E which I think is not that flash
Onboard sound which is not much better,
but get 10fps around airports and 24fps in flight (locked at 24)
Looks like from reading about Pmdg 747x it might kill my frames but the Atr may by the better options but the 47x looks interesting but living in Nz it is only on long haul routes where as the Atr is domestic which flys all over Nz. Would rather the 747 but large $$ outlay for it not to work very well would be dispointment. I have the Wilco 737 but find it not that good but will wait and see what happens when they bring out vista patch.
Basicly the best flight model as close to same preformance as the 767 would be ideal so it helps to hear from others who have them.
Thanks for replys, Mike
well, the ATR killed my CPU today (or at least it died while I was flying the ATR for the first time in a long time) :(
Fried it, poor thing. Of course it's a perfect excuse to upgrade, but still.
