Thread: FSX-Acceleration Installation Problem-"DEP"

  1. Default FSX-Acceleration Installation Problem-"DEP"

I installed Acceleration last night on the following system:
    Vista Home Premium
    AMD 64x2 4600+
    8800GTX
    3MB RAM
    FSX Deluxe with SP1
    UT USA and UT Canada

When I click on "free flight" or any mission I get a "FSX has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" error. It goes on to say that there is a "data execution prevention" problem and the program is being shut down to prevent harm to the computer. I uninstalled Acceleration and everything is fine. I uninstalled FSX and reinstalled everything from scratch-same error occured when Acceleration was installed. I have also tried changing the Vista settings so FSX runs without DEP active but it won't let me.
    Any suggestions?

i dont have acceleration yet,,,i live in the UK so we have to wait,,,,but reading between the lines on the other big forum seems your not alone,,,,have you tried deleteing the fsx.cfg and let it rebuild a new one,,,also alot seem to reckon you need a blank fsx and sp1 with no addons,,,,hope that helps

When I've had the "FSX has encountered a fatal error" message, it's usually when I'm flying an add-on plane. I say usually because I'm not keeping a real watch on it. But so far, it seems to happen with add-on planes, especially if I've switched views from cockpit VC to an outside view. Can't understand this.
