Windows Vista says I need Direct X 9 for FSX

After reading these forums for many months I have encountered a problem that I would appreciate help with and here's my first post.

I've been using FSX on 64 bit Vista without any problems. I've just formatted my PC and done a fresh install of Windows Vista 64bit.

When I have installed FSX it says my version of DirectX is not supported and I need to download DirectX9 from Microsofts website.

This message has never appeared before and the install has always worked OK without any problems.

When I got to www.microsoft.com/directx it analyses my PC and suggests downloading DirectX 9.2. Will this cause problems with my Vista machine ?

No

DirectX 9 should have been part of the default Vista install, along with DirectX 10.

The two can co-exist peacefully on your comptuer.
