    Default FSX stability

When FSX first came out, I jumped on it. I tried for 2 months to get the program to work and be stable. Nothing but problems.
I went back to FS9 and waited patiently for the patch.

Then I jumped on the patch and tried for another 2 month to get the program to run stable. No Luck

I have tried so many of the suggestions, turned down settings, latest driver updates for Video card, all to no satisfaction.

    I went back to FS9.

After 4 months I came back to program today - it is still installed. On first flight screen freezes and that was that.

The biggest problem is I can not finish a single flight, and make the landing without the program locking up.

FS9, I never lock up, I complete all flighs...sometimes I even land on the runway. Basically it has been some great flight time spend flying instead of tweaking and crashing....the computer that is.

    So let me ask...

Are there any new Tweakes......or fixes that I have missed since I was gone?

    Intel 865mobo
    3.4 P4 @800fsb with HT
    2 gig ram
    Nvidia 7850 - 256ddr ram
    Nvidia 5800 - 256 ddr
    creative sound

all top of the line stuff, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I will build a new machine when Vista is straight, and Direct X 10 is out, and all bugs are corrected. I am tierd of being in the learning curve of Microsoft. I will wait until other test pilots figure out the problems and then come in and steal all their idea's and fixes.....hehehehe

    AMD 64X2 4600+ on ASUS A8N-SLI mobo, 2Gb, GeForce 7950 GX2 1Gb, on board sound. WinXP Pro.

I've had FSX since it was released and only had one BSOD and I can only vaguely recall having a lockup or two. Nothing repeated.

It's just a shot in the dark but have you tried disconnecting your flight control(s) and trying the same flight using the keyboard?

I admire your persistence and your apparent intention to keep on trying. And my compliments for not posting an MS bashing rant.

Hang in there. It'll be worth it in the end.

It must be a hardware or driver configuration problem as I have had little to almost no problems running FSX SP2.
