Thread: Crazy graphics behaviour of aircraft parts (all over the place!)

  1. Default Crazy graphics behaviour of aircraft parts (all over the place!)

    Dear All,

    I have currently installed FSX & SP1 on a vista based amd system running on a Asus Geforce 8800 GTS card. Once I start up FSX the exterior of the aircraft models is completely messed up. Parts are all over the place (see attached screenshorts). The 2D and 3D cockpit is fine and I alsio have not noticed any other problems with the scenery. It's just the aircraft itself. The only exception seems to be the motorglider.

    Here are my specs:

    A8N-SLI Board
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+
    2 GB RAM
    Asus Geforce 8800 GTS
    Nvidia driver v158.43 Beta (similar problems arise when installing the regular current v158.24 driver).

    Any suggestions? I have searched the forum but couldn't find an answer...

    Help....!

    Many thanks in advance for your suggestions !

    This behavior typicaly will occur in FSX if even ONE required texture file is missing or corrupted.

    Try replacing the texture.cfg file in your baron's \texture folder(s) with this to see if it helps:

    [fltsim]

    fallback.1=..\texture
    fallback.2=..\..\..\..\Texture
    fallback.3=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture
    fallback.4=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture

    I've added the fallback.2 entry because there are some few files in the default ..\Texture folder for FSX that are used on aircraft models...

    If this texture.cfg solves the baron's problem, then it's probable it will solve any of the other default aircraft's as well... ;)

    Dear Bill,

    Thanks for your reply. Actually I managed to solve the problem using another method. For the benefit of those that may face similar graphics issues here is how I did it:

    - deinstall FSX

    - deinstall Nvidia graphics driver

    - reinstall Nvidia graphics driver

    - reinstall FSX

    - run FSX without FSX SP1 at least once

    - install FSX SP1

    I used the same graphics driver as before but now the problem is solved !

    Once again thanks for your suggestion !

    Martin
