adding repaints to default aircraft

trying to do repaints on the 737-800 and after adding information to the aircraft.cfg file I get this message
"cannot create the c:\programfiles\microsoftgames\microsoftflightsimulatorx\simobjects\airplanes\B737_800\aircraft.cfg.file
make sure that the path and file name are correct".

I am using notepad to change the aircraft.cfg file any help would be appreciated.

I take it that you are using Vista. See #22583 posted on the 21 April. (Do a search for Vista and the Topic is "saving config files on Vista64".)

Thank you for the help, it did the trick, but now I cannot get the airline call sign to work, in the details section of aircraft on the free flight start up, only the default names are on it. Example is my new repaint is in the usairways livery, but their is no call sign in the call sign box. any suggestions. thanks much
