    Default ATC Runway Incursion

I know that ATC is not as perfect as we would like it to be but still it does some strange things but this is the strangest I've ever had. First I had the AI slider turned up to 90% and was using Just Flight's Traffic for FSX. I was cleared to depart from runway 19 at Reagan International. Only problem was that ATC also cleared a 737 to depart on runway 1 and cleared another plane to land on runway 1.These are the same runways!!!!! Why did this happen and does anybody know how to fix this?

    Default RE: ATC Runway Incursion

does anybody know how to fix this?

    That behavior is the fix.

In FS2004 people complained about FS using one runway and not being flexible enough to change runways.

So MS removed the runway locks which people hated in FS2004 - and the possibility of head to head after weather changes is the result.

The normal reason you see this behavior is the flight starts with default weather. Then when the weather updates - the runway is changed.

But some aircraft have already been assigned to the old runway but have not yet cleared the runway, either landing or takeoff. It can take 30 minutes for all those aircraft to clear the runway at a busy airport.

One practice is after setting up your flight, but before starting the flight - download weather.

Another option is after the flight starts and weather downloads, go to the Map view and change your aircraft heading by one degree. That will force a reload of AI traffic with the new weather and runway assignments.

Most people start FS without forcing a new weather upload - so the flight starts and aircraft are assigned landing and takeoff runways based upon the cached weather from the last flight, or a saved flight.

Forcing new current weather helps minimize the potential conflicts. Will not eliminate them entirely, but does help.
