They don't consider the PC you're running, just the graphics card.

For me those settings make FSX run worse.
I tried those suggestions some time back, and didn't like the effects. So, I reverted to what I had previously. It may work for some, but not for me.

I get 30-50fps in FSX with those settings using my 8800GTX... Impressive if you don't mind flying around empty airports without any buildings and cities with nothing but a few scattered landmark buildings. London looks like a flat grey desert with a ferris wheel and a fancy bridge in the center. It's like playing FS98 with nicer clouds and a better mesh.
No thank you.
P.S. At least it is reassuring that nVidia aknowledges FSX existence.
Some time ago somebody else posted this link and it turned out to be totally irrelevant to FSX - just pure, simple and uninformed BS. I am not surprised that the people who tried them either got worse performance or did not get any performance increase.
BTW - the title is misleading as these "tips" do not come from Nvidia. Somebody on that site posted those tips FOR Nvidia cards.
I bet that that person hasn't even tried to run FSX otherwise I can't explain his idiotic boast that "These tech tips will truly let you play the game The Way It's Meant To Be Played".
That is lame!
