I'm running FSX on an older system and I currently don't have the funds to buy a new PC. Will adding 2GB of memory and a 256MB video card help?

Hi,
A little, but your CPU is going to hold you back.
Thanks,

yeah I figured that might be the case. Would it be better just to by a new PC that has intel core 2 duo?
Hi,
Not right now. Wait until the Vista stuff settles out.

i agree w above comments.. dual core is not as important as speed, if you can get a really fast AMD single cpu for less money that might be more wisely spent. but dual core is the current flavor available anyway, so u might end up with that regardless. you will need the extra ram in any case, and the better graphics will also help, but ony with a faster cpu will you be able to take full advantage of them. right now i would absolutely NOT (and will not) do an upgrade merely to play this game. its buggy as hell anyway and its too far ahead of the hardware curve no matter how much you spend. in my opinion were both far better off to enjoy whatever were able to with our current systems for at least a year.
if its of any help for comparisons sake, im able to play fsx well enough to make me want to use it occasionally, but nowhere near well enough to make it my default sim. i wouldnt even attempt to fly a jet fighter over a big city, for example. ive got a 3.4ghz p4 extreme edition, 2 gigs ddr400 ram and a 256meg radeon x800
