Thread: Looking for help - no complaining

Default Looking for help - no complaining

I have all settings on highest with the exception of light bloom, traffic (around 30%, cars 10%) and weather in the middle. I seem to get around 8-15 FPS in detailed city areas and 30-50 in rural, so I am not complaining about the performance, but would like for it to be better. My only immediate wish is I could get traffic turned up more and airport ground vehicles on max and still keep the FPS without losing anything else, however at this time I have been unable to.

I'm hoping someone might have some ideas. I just overclocked my 2.4GHz Intel E6600 to 2.93GHZ but the FPS did not increase at all. As you can see from the screenshot it does not appear physical or video memory are the problem, instead it appears the CPU is tagged at a 100%. I remember FS9 did the same on my old athlon 3400+, but frames were always good. I'm fairly new with tweaking and have applied the available tweaks with the exception of reducing the autogen texture size tweak, which I don't think will help? Does anyone have any ideas on some things I could try to get more FPS so that I can turn up the traffic? Thanks

Try experimenting with turning some of the sliders down.

Make sure all your Drivers are up to date?

It seems to be a game of give and take at this point, do you
want pretty scenery or more FPS. It's one or the other.

I think most everybody is at the same place as you. Your
FPS is exactly the same as mine.

Make sure you read this. It is the best tweak guide i've seen.

Thanx for the tweak guide. Very helpful. I'm OK with my setting now. They are acceptable to me.FSX is great and still has a lot to show . Which begs the question, why should we have to go on a never ending quest to retrieve whats on those DVDs?I know, pardon the expression its a game, but is it a treasure hunt?
In a real situation what you expect is what you get.Yea,I know we all got different machines. However at those published minimums,we should enjoy greater latitude.
I already asked ,what did Microsoft use to develop this FSX? What specs? I think only then can the hidden potential can be realized. Again thanx for the guide,it speeds up the process we all have to do to customize our Sim world."No complaining" really!
