Aircraft Dissapointment

After looking at the Garmin panels in the Mooney et al, I'm very dissapointed that Microsoft didn't include the Boeing 747-8 to replace the 747-400.

With it's radically different looking wings and engines, and it's 787 style flight deck, it would have been fantastic. Strange really, all new dimensions and suchlike are there, and if you look at the 787 panel on Boeings webpage, the Garmins could have represented those easily.

If that is your only disappointment with FSX then you are doing well.

I think it is too early for the 747-8 but not for the 787 which I did ask for in this version which didn't happen either. Apparently they won't go out on a limb by releasing a airliner that isn't in production yet. I think the default selection is good overall, which now includes an Airbus among other goodies. The add-ons will now take over where the defaults left off. I can't wait for the FSX tuned aircraft.

I BET that soon enough we'll see a commercial and professionally-developed 787 addon hitting the shelves.

MSFS is more of a platform than a fully encompassing content package. Quality aircraft, gauges, utilities and scenery have always came from 3rd party developers.

Since the final 748 design won't be firmed up for awhile, that doesn't seem to make sense to me.
