Same pictures as before, nothing 'reported' that hasn't already been mentioned by myself, a few other developers, Mike G. or Jason W.
But, it is a nice summary, and was remarkably well written. ;)

I'm so hurt. For the past 4 years, since fs2002, I have been saving up for the biggest, baddest, meanest dual core computing mutha available to run the version following fs2004. But now I learn fsx will be 32 bit and they didn't push the technology. I might as well keep using my old pc. Why get vista? Bring back the fs98 team that pushed the technology. This group is still living in the late 1990's. I never understood in the past why so many stayed with old versions of fs when newer versions existed. I'm feeling some understanding now. sigh...
FSX won't be 64-bit but it will support multi-threading (which FS9 won't) so a dual-core (or quad-core?) would certainly be helpful. I'm planning to get at least (still a long ways off) a 64-bit dual core system towards the end of this year or possibly early next year (already socking away money for it). The 64-bit might not help FSX but it should make a difference with Vista in general and certainly other apps will be migrating to 64-bit after Vista comes out. As 64-bit becomes more mainstream, I bet FS11 will be 64-bit.

Wow, looks good except the part about "huge segment(s) of the flightsim community want the ability to craft realistic combat missions with the FSX platform."
Hmmmm, ummm, I wonder where that info came from? The first post on here was about FS with guns and it got nearly 90% negative feedback lol! Maybe the wussies email in saying they support it...to each his/her own I suppose....I'm siding with ACES here...leave the combat out, or leave it up to 3rd party....

All of those pictures are new to Flightsim.com and out of the 8, I've only seen 3 before at other sites. I've been looking too ... and collecting them. I'm now up to 78 original screenshots of FSX. Certainly some are in similar veins and some are obviously shots from the same flight but all show at least slightly different perspectives.
As for the content of the article, nothing groundbreaking but it should at least put to rest some of the rumors that have been flying around here.

I too remember the "Guns in FSX" post (which seems to have miraculously disappeared!) FS is a civil flight simulator and putting guns in it would just go against everything, as 99% of posters here agreed! The guy who wrote the article clearly doesn't care for objectivity!
Where did it come from? He made it up! This may be the last time I come here looking for information. There is absolutely no objectivity left at flightsim.com regarding FSX. Nels is gong to have to get some control of the guys who are writing this drivel or the entire site is going to go the way of Microwings and the Compuserv forum. Or, maybe there is another agenda at work which I'm just to inept to recognize.
Doug
They can't hide the guns forever. Sooner or it will be part of msfs.
I also predict space flight will be added to this simulator. I see a time where we fly our spacecraft to an orbiting space station. Then fly back to earth just to get shot out of the air by some kid with guns. LMAO.

Some may indeed by 'new to Flightsim.com' but I have seen every single one of 'em elsewhere... No matter though, ya can't fault Mike for pimping the website that employs him! ;)
