    Default Airplane sound

I would like if FSX will have a sound.cfg file for every spesific aircraft, allowing us to set the sounds as we wish for each aircraft we'd like to fly.
As with FS2004 and predecessors, the sound had to be set every time we change aircrafts. As you all know, the cocpit sound from a Cessna is not the same as the cocpit sound from a 747 and I've been feeling some annoyed about having to set the sound again and again after changing to another aircraft.

Maybe this is already taken care of but if not, I hope the FSX team could take it in consideration? :)

    What?

In FS9, every single aircraft does have its own sound.cfg... it's a different matter if the developer of a particular aircraft didn't produce sounds and has them aliased to the Cessna instead. You don't have to 'set' anything.

I see your point and of course you're correct :)

What I meant was the level of the sounds. For example the sound level of the engines, which is clearly experienced different in a cocpit of a 747 than in a Cessna.

I appologize for the inaccuracy in my last post.

That is simply a matter of setting the volume of each .wav file used... I still fail to see your point. What you are asking for is already possible... ;)

    Wow, serious?

"setting the volume of each .wav file used" would take HOURS per sound set, to get an acceptable combonation..... Then times that by ALL the default sets, then start on your add ons? Also not all third party sound wavs are editable.

A couple of sliders to control internal sound vs. external sound would be great. Then if personal choice doesn't match that of the sound developer, one could simply use the sliders to increase or decrease the selected volumes.

The sound cfg. file parameters are already separated, with internal sounds being #1 designated, and external as being #2. Shouldn't be to difficult to add a slider to control #1 separate from #2.

Er, you don't need to edit the .wav file, you simply changed the volume parameter in the sound.cfg file... ;)

Er, That is soooo simple.....LMAO! Try telling that to someone who has spent 3 months or more mixing and blending sound wave files in a cfg. file, for a single sound set. .......I think your confusing a simple touch down or autopilot disengage, etc. file, that can be set to one constant level. .......Nope can't do that with engine sounds, as the different files that blend, have to be set to certain engine RPM ranges ..... Now when that's all done, start all over for the external engine sounds. Oh, and don't forget the want, will, and time to study the SDK's so you know what each parameter does in the sequence of a ENGINE sound line in the cfg.

The answer may be a couple of sliders that would recognize all the internal and external engine sounds and control the overall mixture of engine sounds separately.

I think that what Viking28 is referring to here is 'true sound profiles for individual aircraft' built into the FSX menu system. I have to say that I agree with him, it would be a nice feature and would save loads of time messing about with wave files...

I hope you have some super glue then.

I'm so happy to have been a source of mirth for you Randy...:P
