Thread: sound

To FSX makers, please improve the sound take for instance,,, if im looking in spot view it should sound as though im actually there flying with the plane , in other words you would hear what superman would hear if he flew next to the plane , so this would mean wind noise and whatever else you would hear, the way it is now is not good ,its like im looking at a plane on tv and theres engine noise on the speakers . My idea would add to immersion. Oh, another thing i thought of is to please make the radio towers or any towers taller. when i flew for real , i remember some towers were pretty tall , say about 1000ft agl

    Hmmm...
Personally I think it's better not to have wind noise in the spot view. But that's just me.

Why? then what your looking at is a movie ,,, and my idea would add realism and immersion. Whats your reasoning ,,,,Hey ANDY how do i install the ferris wheel i downloaded from your site?

Frankly, I'd rather not hear that wind noise, or if it's there it should really be subdued. Spot view, to me, is a camera plane, not me as Superman.

About the towers, they are marked on sectionals with their MSL, and often the AGL altitudes marked. I suggest looking at one and comparing it to the towers in FS, they are pretty realistic. You just have to find a taller tower :)

In addition, towers and other obstructions are often mislabeled, mismeasured, or just plane not shown on charts, so don't be surprised if FS is not exactly like the real world in this instance.

You should just be able to pop it into your AddOn Sceenry\Scenery folder.

Your idea would not add to immersion, it would simply be distracting.

A better idea would be for any sound changes to concentrate on allowing for separate sounds for the front and rear of an engine, to be mixed together according to camera position, the ability to use different triggers for certain events, and so on.

Also, the ability to use simple cue points for looping sounds such as flaps would be most excellent. Everything else is fine. We have it pretty good as-is, actually!
