Mission Orientation for FSX

There is a site called www.flyace.com/ace.htm which I thought had a really great idea for Flight Simulator – It started with FS5.1, took in FS98 and a bit of FS2000, but I think after that it probably became to difficult to integrate with new flight simulator programs. It is still there but doesn’t function any more like it use to.

No doubt some of you reading this may have actually joined ACE in the past. If so you will know what I’m talking about – If not go to the site and have a browse around. – It’s worthwhile as a piece of flight simulator history, if nothing else.

I don’t know whether MS would consider this type of “ mission orientation” for the new FSX, but I for one would welcome it. It wasn’t too complex, and I would think most people could figure it out quickly and easily, yet it had enough to keep it interesting. I realise it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it certainly had a lot of people hooked on it back in the old days.

Yeah, I remember ACE from way back in the day. It was probably the most fun I'd had with FS up to that point. I still remember blazing through the Nevada desert in the DC3 with the copilot threatening to shoot me if I busted my altitude. Good times.

Wow! This link sure brings back some memories. I wanted to join Ace but I always got a message telling me the pilot roster was full. In fact this was the only VA I wanted to join as it just looked like so much fun. Flight sim with a rebel attitude.

Thanks for the link, and the memories. Yeah, it would be good to see something like this in FSX.
