Default FSX must have the heat mirage effect

Hi iam new to this forum but an ole faithful to flightsimming since fs4.0. FSX is slowly revealing itself to be another breakthrough sim from microsoft, however a must have feature that hasnt been talked about much is the heat exhaust "blur effect" from the engines which would definitely add a level of realism to the sim and kinda hint to you how powerful these steel birds are.For those of you who have played gran turismo 3, can you imagine the mirage effect coming from the tarmac especially when the camera is set at a low angle so you have to look though the blur and see the aircraft, now that would be awesome..dontcha think....Peace Out

Yeah, I love the heat blur effects in LOMAC. And they have little impact on framerates too. If that's incorporated, great!

What about the distortion of ground scenery from pavement heat.So when you are taxiing about the airport, more distant scenery can get that wavy look from ground heat.

lomac heat haze not having much of an effect on frame rate? lol what system are you running? it brought mine to a standstill... :P So much so I sold it on ebay... :P

There have been some 3rd party addons that emulate a form of heat haze by tweaking the smoke effect and creating an almost transparent FX file...

It worked okay for the tomcats, but for the most part I'd probably wait for the next gen of video cards before expecting something to work without killing the frame rates...
