    Default Icing Conditions

aside from all the other requests, I was just curious if actualy icing conditions and accumulated ice will be simulated in the next version?

    not only icing...

but also convection, updrafts/downdrafts, wake turbulence, jetstream simulation, moutain waves, real thunderstorms with volume/body/altitude, runway surface contamination due to snow/rain/ice.. you know, the stuff that gets us airline pilots in a tizzy every day!

Where did you find that out? I haven't seen anything mentioned from MS about any of these things in FSX. Source?

Nothing has been mentioned by MS concerning these features, as these individuals are making requests for these features, not stating what features will be included.

Remember, this forum is still for those who wish to make their feature "wishes" known to MS. ;-)

yes. Sorry if I was misleading, but it was a sort of wish list. I think microsoft spends too much time on eye candy and does not focus on the challenges and hazards that contribute to the one best skill you need when flying: decision making!

My apologies, I thought you were responding to the thread starter when you were actually adding your own wishes. I concur with these ideas. :)

Well, Mike has made it pretty clear that at this juncture features planned will likely be "cut" rather than added, but that said...

Expressing our wishes here may well influence which features get "bumped to the top of the list" and which don't... ;)

    Hi,

And please fix the FS2004 bug in the piston flight model - you cannot remove ice with the deice switches (even in the default Baron, for example) - it just keeps building up... Works OK in turboprops and jets, though.

    Thanks,

It would be nice to see different severities of icing based on the weather and mixed, clear and rime. I ditto Tom's thoughts on the piston model.
