    Default Drag

    It would be nice if drag parameters were added to FS for opened canopies, cowl flaps, etc. And PROPELLER drag (especially for constant speed and windmilling props) would enable us to better configure aircraft behavior, particularly when on approach.

    I'd also like to have better documentation on certain fs9.cfg parameters such as:

    TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000
    TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=10.000000
    TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000
    TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1
    TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1
    TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=4.000000
    TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=5.000000
    TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=5

    The current documentation (SDK, etc.) doesn't really give a clue (at least to the uninitiated) what changes in any of these parameters will accomplish for me. RADIUS of what? What is a DEM_AREA? What happens with changed error factor?

    Yeah, I figured Kirk's F-16 would slow down when I popped the canopy @ FL450! LOL!!

    Slipping also doesn't seem to create enough drag in most planes.

    To the best of my knowledge, drag for slipping can be added by the aircraft designer, so I don't think it's a sim limitation.
