Thread: Archer II & Cessna 310 FSX Compatibility

  1. Default Archer II & Cessna 310 FSX Compatibility

    Hi there,

I previously purchased the Archer II and Cessna 310 aircraft a while ago from Dreamfleet and had been flying them in FS9. When I try to install the aircraft under FSX, the product will not install.

I have tried searching the site and forums for FSX compatibility information but have not been able to find any details.

Will these aircraft have a patch made to allow for the installation under FSX or are they not compatible with the new version of Flight Simulator? If they are compatible, what do I need to do to install them under FSX? I will be getting the Archer III soon but I would still like to fly these other aircraft.

    Thanks. :)

    Hi Michael,

No plans for such compatibility, as they have already been through 2 versions of FS. The Archer II has already been replaced with the Archer III for FS9, and that is the one that will be converted for FSX later on.

The 310 remains in FS9 only.

Oh man, please Lou, redo the C310 for FSX. I'd be more than happy to pay for a completely new one for FSX. This has to be one of the most classic planes you've ever designed.

Right now I'm flying it in FSX and really, the only issues are the interiors and a couple small exterior visual problems like the landing gear. Other than that it's great. The flight model works fine in FSX. The plane actually seems to fly better in FSX than in FS9. I just came back from a trip from Alabama to the West Coast and back and it was a hoot. I've been all over the country from Florida to New York to Washington with it.

    Please reconsider.

I'll never give up my C310 even if I have to continue flying with the FS9 design and I would think there are many others like me.

If anyone feels the same as I, please jump in here and let Lou how you feel about the C310. Maybe we can change his mind.

Suffice to say, I don't think it's a matter of popular consensus. The 310 was (is) a great piece of work. For FS9. Many of us will continue, like you, to fire up FS9 to fly the C310. It's one of the memorable flight models that will keep FS9 popular for a long time to come. Good for it! And then Lou and staff can put time and effort to more new and different tasks...

Yes; I realize what you said. But why ask for complete FSX compatibility when, in your words, "the only issues are the interiors and a couple small exterior visual problems like the landing gear. Other than that it's great. The flight model works fine in FSX. The plane actually seems to fly better in FSX than in FS9." My point is that those visual quibbles aren't valid when using the program for what is was designed for: FS2002. I thought it was gracious enough that Lou offered it up for FS9.

A compliment to Lou on his fine design, a request for a FSX compatible (full price) version, a couple statements of fact about the C310 in FSX. Didn't know I was quibbling.

I don't suppose it's going to happen but I didn't know we weren't supposed to ask for an aircraft we'd like to see in FSX.

Did anyone dispute your statements of fact? Nope. Anyone say you couldn't ask? Nope. Forums are full of opinions. Ask away...

I would love to see a new 310 made for FSX i would love even more for it to be the T310R ;)

I guess I'm on this bandwagon as well. The only thing keeping me from purchasing FSX has been the thought of loosing the 310 from dreamfleet.

I'm happy to hear it at least will fly in FSX.
