    Default A36 Ignition switch and Mouse wheel question

    Hi,

    I think I have found a bug with V1.1 of the A36!

    Using the scrollwheel to switch off the ignition and remove the key in the 2D panel, results in you being unable to move the ignition key past OFF (it places the key back in, but that is all). If you rotate the key too far past "remove", you can't ever replace the key!

    In both cases, you can't start the aircraft again, and have to reload it.

    I think the issue is pretty straight forward in that you can simply rotate the key too far in the "off" direction, causing this weird anomily.

    Apart from this very very minor issue, I'm extremely pleased with it! Fantastic! Great job. :D

    Hi Vulcan,

    Glad you like the A36, but sorry to let you down because this is no bug.

    I just tried it, and there is no issue on my end. However, if the key should not return, just give it a right click.

    Also, the switch is designed for mouse clicks, not scrolling and this is described in the manual on page 5-5 item 10. Where we mention using only clicks. This is because you must hold the right click in order to start the engine. We want you using your mouse buttons here, not the wheel, as the wheel will not work for engine start.

    So, no issue or bug here, and no changes planned.

    Mouse operation within FS should not always be considered perfect, and anomalies outside of our control can occur. Otherwise, works fine for me, except for engine start.

    Perhaps in future products we will just eliminate the ability to scroll, but no changes are planned for the A36 as we state correct operation in the manual. Please use right / left mouse clicks as per the manual. :-)

    BTW, I edited the title of your post, for when there is no bug, we prefer not to have one claimed in the post's title, where folks looking to purchase the product visit. Indeed, your original title was a bit over the top! "A bug?? Surely not!!! *GASP*"

    It is usually best to ask a question first, and let the developer decide if a bug exists. ;-)

    If it is any help, Lou, I have experienced the phenomenon that often turning the key off with left clicks leaves you unable to right click it past the magneto positions. A quick reload of the aircraft solves the problem, but I don't know why it occurs

    It might also be caused by a previously saved flight with another aircraft.

    Hi,

    No problem! I was a little surprised when it happened. Just to clarify - I could get the key to return initially, but as mentioned above, the difficulty is with turning past the left/right magneto selection to start - it "springs" back to OFF, but the key is still there.

    If you go mad with the scrollwheel towards the "OFF" position, that completely prevents the key from appearing again (I tried it when I couldn't get it to start). The joys of FS!

    Sorry about the bug thing - to be honest I thought it was FS and not the A36, hence the title.

    Not sure this is your issue, but I too had this problem before I realized that I had not removed the wheel chokes. After removing the chokes, the plane started fine.

    And a dream it is to fly...

    Well, John, that's correct, we programmed it to work that way! ;-)

    Happy to hear it's a dream to fly, and we hope you try her bigger sister, the Baron 58 too! :-)
