    Default Cambridge Stunt...

On the way from Alaska to Cambridgeshire, I had plenty of time to think...And, I dreamed up this new arrival stunt. Sadly, when I eventually arrived here at Cambridge I was too tired to try it. Anyway, I've rested up now for a couple of days and I thought I would show it to you now. The stunt could be described as "An inverted fighter type break, with engine off and prop stopped, continuing with an air start and spitfire type curved approach and landing".

Wooo baby! Who else would try an airstart with hard break from the inverted position? Amazing, Peter - I'm speechless.

    Best Regards,

Thank you Bill...I hope you enjoyed it as well :) It is a challenging manoeuvre to perform as all the key strokes really need to be performed without a glance at the keyboard and as the right hand is very busy with the stick, only the left is available. In a way, it helped me having to pause for pictures, as these moments expanded the time for thinking about what was next. The sequence was taken in one pass and believe it or not, it is the one and only time I have performed it. The shots from the Cub and the Mooney were taken with TrafficTools Explorer and I discovered that it is a very hard hit on performance...especially as there was a lot of traffic in the area...In future, with that technique, I will close the Explorer window before continuing to manoeuvre. The Tower shots were arranged by positioning the Tower accurately before I took off and saving it. Bear in mind that you can not do it in Instant Replay as this does not show the Traffic.

To perfect the stunt, I will practice it without pauses for pictures :)

    Peter,

That has to be just about the most amazing piece of flying I've ever seen in FS. Same for the photography. All I can say is "Can we go back and get my stomach now!!??"

Thank you for your comment Glenn...I'm glad you enjoyed it :) From the odd replies I've had around the place, you are not the only one to be a little unsettled by the images :+
