Thread: A36 Garmin error

    Default A36 Garmin error

I bought the A36 today and installed it on my laptop (it has the XP).

When I select the A36 to run... I get the following error message

"Reality XP Garmin GNS430 Unit 1

Aviation Data output has been disabled automatically. Insufficient Avionics Bus ressources".

I have like a Gig of memor and 12Gigs of HD space.

    Whats up?

It sounds to me like it was a bad install. If I were you, I'd try to re-install it. Make sure you install everything, and run the 430 Trainer too.

If that doesn't work, report back :)

Are you by chance running an AMD processor that's under 2Ghz processor speed?

Hello Todd, I actually got that same thing. I run a AMD2800+barton which is a 2.1 GHZ. The only difference with my machine is I run Win2000pro. Interesting. Have you had a problem with users that have less than 2GHZ? By the way, everything runs perfect on my system. I only got that error the first time I loaded the A36, since then all has been great. You guys keep out doing yourselves. Best regards, J.moss

Well, since there's no support for 2000Pro, I can't help you there, but if you check the thread below, you'll see that a very small number of users have had a problem and it seems to be related directly to AMD processors under 2Ghz. It's a rather lengthy thread, but the fix from RealityXP has seemed to help all users with the issue.

For you in particular, if it only happened once upon initial load and hasn't happpened again, I wouldn't worry about it, but maybe for the future, this is something to look into.

Thanks Todd for your reply, and the link. I think I have logged over 10hrs in the A36 already! Amazing job! I was just curious as to the AMD thing. Thanks again! Best regards, J.Moss

Nope.. Mine is an IBM Think pad.. T40 Intel mobile technology.

My regular flight sim runs on Win 2000 Pro .. and I know the A36 doesn't run on that.. so I have installed it on my laptop.

I may try reinstalling it again.

Only once? I get that message everytime I load the A36 (both versions). I don't pay it much mind since I thought it was an issue with Win2K and Reality XP.

It may give the warning message (this is not an error message) for the same reasons as other customers running an AMD < 2Ghz (related to SSE instructions).

You may consider contacting Reality XP technical support to try the beta which is giving good results to other customers!

This is not an issue with Win2K and Reality XP, it is an issue running a solution sold for Windows XP with another operating system!

However, some customers running some CPUs can have a CTD failure. A new update is in beta tests and seems to solve this issue!
