    Default GNS430 Right Side Knobs

I took Lou's advice and pulled down the GNS430 Manuals. I have now read and have a fair understanding of the basic operational concepts of the GNS430. But I have one small problem that is really hampering me in the operation of the unit.

The lower right side large and small knobs control most of the functional operations of the unit. Many commands require that you complete your updates or confirm your selections by pushing, not turning, the smaller knob. I am having one heck of a hard time getting the smaller knob to push versus turn.

My question: is there a methodology/key command to made the knob accept a push versus a turn? In many cases, the knob wants to turn versus accepting a push to matter where I touch the assembly.

    Thanks again,

    Tom

To push the inner knob, left or right-click where the arrows are pointing to for each knob. You'll know you're in the right place when the cursor changes to a small, finger-pointing hand.

    Hi there,

Indeed, those are the clickspots for the "push" function. The GNS430 will also recognize the middle mouse button as a push, so if you 3 buttons on your mouse, use the middle one on the button to do a push :)

    Best regards, Elmar

the wheel when over the small dial, which will do the same thing as using the above Hot Spots. This would be the same as pushing the central knob on the real thing.

To turn the knobs you can use the left and right mouse buttons.

Edit: once again, Elmar got in just before me !

In addition, you can also wheel-push over the outer knob! So just wheel-push anywhere above the knob for the push!
