    Default Bonanza A36 textures

Is there a way to make the model textures smaller or less complex than DXT3 size? i only ask because even in this format they still seem to take a hit on my system especially when changing views. otherwise i really like this airplane a lot.

    :)

DXT3 is about as system-friendly as you can get. Some of the textures are in DXT1. You could try converting then all to DXT1 using ImageTool but I doubt you'd be happy with the results.

    What are your system specs?

Don't touch them. DXT1 does not support the alpha channel (reflections), that is why it is used only on certain textures. ;-)
