Default Unable to complete installation, please help with error that reads

Dreamfleet A36 Bonanza has not been totally installed because of the following reason:

    Cannot create the following file:

    C:\Dreamfleet\RXPGNS430_DF36_setup.$$A

I believe this is happening because my main hardrive is the letter "F"

I do not have "C" drive.

I guess the installation is defaulting looking for C drive.

Is there a way around this??

    I am using windows XP

    Thanks

That IS a problem, and I do not know a work around at this time, perhaps someone else does, but every machine should have a c: drive.

I am not hopeful for a solution, as we went through this in the past, and there was no solution then.

Why would you not have a c: drive on your machine?

    Could you partition one?

I just re-built my XP Pro SP2 system, and for some strange reason the boot volume, which should normally be drive letter "C" is actually drive letter "F" in the rebuilt system. If I go into Disk Management and try to change it, I get the error message "Windows cannot modify the letter of the boot volume or system volume". However, it seems to me that I have done this in the past, and that there is a way around this. Can anyone point me in the right directin? How do I change my root back to "C"?

The C drive does appear if I plug in a USB device.

Unfortunately it seems that I cannot use the Bonanza. How can I get a refund?

    Thanks very much!

    Hi there,

It is indeed looking for a C: drive at that point.
    You can do the following:

Click START -> RUN -> enter "CMD" and press enter
This will open up a command box.

Now, create a folder somewhere on your system and type the following in the command box:

    subst c: path_to_your_folder example: subst c: d:\test

You will now have a virtual c: drive on your system which will hopefully allow you to finish the installation :)

When you are done, the following command in a command box deletes the virtual drive.

    subst c: /d

    Best regards, Elmar

    Hi,

Alas, you cannot change the boot volume drive letter.

I just posted a possible solution for your installation though, let me know if it helps. If not, let me know as well ;)

    Best regards, Elmar

    Hi there,

Hmmm... Did you confirm the above did give you a C: drive ? If so, create a folder called Dreamfleet on that drive and see if it helps.

I will build a new installer during the day, which will not force the use of the C: drive. It might take a little while before it is available.

    Best regards, Elmar

p.s. please drop me an email @ ecalbo@zeelandnet.nl
Don't worry, if we cannot make it work, you will be able to get a refund.

I think it did, but I'm not too sure.

    My hard drive is F.
